Full Description:
The High Desert Astronomical Society (HiDAS) is based at the Luz Observatory in the Lewis Center for Educational Research. We were formed to provide trained, volunteer astronomers to operate and maintain the Center's equipment. Our second goal is to foster and support the members' and public's general interest in the science of astronomy. Twice a month we hold a free public viewing at the observatory and we also hold a monthly club meeting plus a monthly star party. Dates vary but are listed at our website.
